A Cashmere Goat Named Louise

I recently bought a CSA from Pine Needle Farm Cashmeres:http://pnfcashmeresblog.blogspot.com/   Pine Needle Farm is in Montana, very far from the sunny south where I live.  The goats are hand combed of their downy fleece in the spring as it begins to shed.  Ann the owner, also has a de-hairing machine and de-hairs her own flock plus that of others.  Goat milk soap is also part of her CSA.

She sent me pictures of the goats whose fleece I bought. One of them is named Louise!

Ann says that she is gentle, and it looks like she is smiling in her picture. My SO and I got a huge laugh over the coincidence. I will be spinning her fleece for myself.  What a conversation piece it will be!

  1. I love goat's milk soap. Here in the north it is a necessity for winter. Can't wait to see the fleece!
